Committee to focus on Information Integrity, the number one concern of financial executives as identified in recent FEI survey
New York, NY and Naperville, IL – October 23, 2007 – Infogix, the leading provider of independent automated information controls, today announced that Ed Gourley, Infogix asset management group leader, has accepted an invitation from the Financial Executives International (FEI) to become a member of their Committee on Finance and Information Technology (CFIT). CFIT addresses the needs and interests of financial executives as strategic leaders, as they strive to realize measurable and sustainable performance improvements, while maintaining financial control through the development and application of information technology systems and other methodologies affecting the management of business functions, through research, surveys, advocacy, conference content, and newsletters.
In this new role, Gourley will be a part of the CFIT Governance Sub-Committee focused on Information Integrity, which is Infogix’s mission of ensuring the accuracy, credibility and reliability of information. In response to the results of the recently released survey Technology Issues for Financial Executives Report 2007, Gourley will lead the committee to further position Information Integrity as an important framework for every organization. Survey results revealed that improving Information Integrity and data quality ranked as the most pervasive technology concern, among respondents, which consisted of 653 members of the FEI. In addition, Gourley is currently developing an Information Integrity track for the 2008 FEI Summit, slated for May 4, 2008 in Phoenix, AZ.
"Organizations are recognizing that a lack of Information Integrity is hampering their ability to attain business objectives," said Gourley. "My goal within CFIT is to permeate to academia, business and government, the importance of Information Integrity."
